“The degeneration of high society!”

The dinner ends, the coffee is poured, and nobody goes home. Leticia (Silvia Pinal) and the other guests at Edmundo Nóbile's mansion sit on into the night, then into the next day, with no door locked and no one able to cross the threshold. Luis Buñuel leaves them in their evening clothes, the silk gone creased and the servants gone missing, the butler Julio (Claudio Brook) among the few still moving through the rooms.
