The Eyes of Tammy Faye

“Sometimes in life, you have to take your lashes.”

Tammy Faye Bakker (Jessica Chastain) grows up in International Falls, Minnesota, wanting a life of faith that is loud, joyful and seen by everyone. She finds it with Jim Bakker (Andrew Garfield), and together they build an empire out of evangelical television, from the 1960s into the 1980s. Michael Showalter keeps returning to Tammy Faye at her mirror, the thick lashes and bright lipstick going on, ready for the camera.
