The Face Reader

“Look fate in the face.”

Nae-kyung (Song Kang-ho), the son of a disgraced noble family, travels Joseon reading faces, and he can tell a stranger's character and habits from a glance. That talent carries him into the royal court, where Kim Jong-seo (Baek Yoon-sik), a loyalist to the king, and Grand Prince Soo-yang (Lee Jung-jae), the king's uncle, are circling the throne. Han Jae-rim builds the film on one old belief: that a man's face shows what he is, and no title or robe can hide it.
