The Family Way

“A girl, a boy, a tender, funny, terrible wedding night.”

Arthur (Hywel Bennett) and Jenny Fitton (Hayley Mills) have one plan for their wedding night: get started on married life and then leave for Spain. Instead they spend it in a bedroom at Arthur's parents' house, where Ezra (John Mills) and Lucy Fitton (Marjorie Rhodes) live under the same roof, and the trip is cancelled soon after. The Boulting brothers' film is about how little room a young marriage gets when a whole family is crowded around it.
