Jeff Webster (James Stewart) is a cattle driver who trusts no one and wants only to get his herd north and sell it. In Alaska he and his talkative old partner Ben Tatum (Walter Brennan) run afoul of the law, and saloon owner Ronda Castle (Ruth Roman) puts them to work hauling her supplies to a new Canadian boomtown.
