The Finest Hours

“32 survivors, room for 12.”

Bernie Webber (Chris Pine) is a quiet young Coast Guard boatswain's mate on Cape Cod, newly engaged to Miriam (Holliday Grainger) and careful to a fault. In the winter of 1952, a blizzard splits two oil tankers apart, and Craig Gillespie sends Bernie toward the wreck of the SS Pendleton, where Ray Sybert (Casey Affleck) is trying to hold the surviving crew together. Back on shore, Miriam waits and refuses to believe he won't come back.
