The First Slam Dunk

“17 years and... 40 minutes.”

Ryota Miyagi (Shugo Nakamura) is the smallest man on Shohoku's court, a second-year point guard who plays fast and smart and keeps his face calm while he does it. He lines up beside Sakuragi (Subaru Kimura), Rukawa, Akagi and Mitsui at the Inter-High National Championship, with the reigning champions of Sannoh Kogyo waiting. Takehiko Inoue, who wrote the original manga, directs the game himself and draws every sprint and pass as if he were still inking the page.
