In 1990s Manhattan, three women who spent their marriages helping their husbands climb have each been traded in for a newer, younger woman. Elise (Goldie Hawn), Brenda (Bette Midler) and Annie (Diane Keaton) set out to hit the men where it hurts most, in the wallet. Hugh Wilson builds the film on their friendship, and the three of them lean on each other once the husbands are gone.
