Across the five star systems known as the Joker Systems, kingdoms keep knights called Headliners, who pilot giant robots named Mortar Heads. Each Headliner is bound to a fatima, a human-looking companion who makes the machine answer, and Fatima Lachesis (Maria Kawamura) is one of them. Kazuo Yamazaki follows her through a world where Emperor Amaterasu and his Mirage Knights hold the balance, and a Headliner's bond with a fatima is all that keeps the robots moving.
