The Flame of New Orleans

(1941)Directed by René Clair79 minComedy, Romance
“THE FLAME IN HER EYES scorched a thousand hearts!”

Nobody in old New Orleans quite knows who Countess Claire Ledoux (Marlene Dietrich) is or where she came from, only that she has arrived and the city's eligible men have noticed. Charles Giraud (Roland Young), a rich banker, courts her, while Robert Latour (Bruce Cabot), a sea captain, pursues her from the other side. René Clair sets the contest in the open, and the countess has to keep both men guessing about her real past.
