“Coffins Looted! Cadavers Dissected!”

Dr. Robert Knox (Peter Cushing) is an Edinburgh surgeon in 1828, driven to understand how the human body works and short of the cadavers his lectures need. William Burke (George Rose) and William Hare (Donald Pleasence), two local ne'er-do-wells, find a way to bring him fresh specimens, and John Gilling bases the story on their real case. Knox asks few questions about where the bodies come from, and he pays.
