The Flight of the Phoenix

“Theirs was the triumph - yours, the excitement!”

Frank Towns (James Stewart), an aging cargo pilot, wants nothing more than to get his men home alive when a sandstorm forces his plane down in the Sahara. Heinrich Dorfmann (Hardy Krüger), a passenger who designs aircraft, proposes tearing off the undamaged wing and building a new plane from the wreck. Robert Aldrich watches a dozen men work under the sun while the food and water in the tanks shrink each day.
