“Sexier than the Marx Brothers, handsomer than Laurel and Hardy but not as smart as The 3 Stooges.”

Freddie Bigard (Stockard Channing) is a young heiress with a fortune, and she's the target of two bumbling 1920s hustlers, Nicky Wilson (Warren Beatty) and Oscar "Dix" Sullivan (Jack Nicholson). Mike Nichols directs this black comedy from a screenplay by Carole Eastman, with the men scheming and fumbling toward her money. Nicky and Dix are tied to each other by the plan, and the plan keeps pulling them into one another's way.
