The Foul King

“In the ring, I'm the king.”

Lim Dae-ho (Song Kang-ho) is a bank clerk in Seoul who is late, scolded and shoved around by his bosses day after day. At night he trains in secret to become a wrestler, stepping into the ring as the masked cheat called the Foul King. Kim Jee-woon plays the bouts for broad laughs, but Dae-ho's bruised pride is what the film keeps coming back to: the first time he tries to talk to Jang Min-young (Jang Jin-young).
