The Four Feathers

(1939)Directed by Zoltan Korda129 minAdventure, Drama, War, History
“They made him a hero by branding him a coward... the story of a man who conquered fear.”

Harry Faversham (John Clements), a junior officer in Queen Victoria's army and the son of a general, resigns his commission on the eve of his regiment's posting to the Sudan, and wants nothing more than to win back his name. His friend John Durrance (Ralph Richardson) and Ethne Burroughs (June Duprez), the woman Harry is engaged to, both hold his good name now. Zoltan Korda gives the three of them a loyalty that is slow to break and slower to mend.
