The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

“Paris, city of lovers... the day the clocks stopped turning and the world stood still...”

Julio Desnoyers (Glenn Ford) wants to stay out of the family quarrels, but he is the grandson of Madariaga (Lee J. Cobb), a patriarch in Argentina whose two daughters married a Frenchman and a German. Vincente Minnelli follows both branches of the household as Nazi Germany occupies France. Cousins who grew up at the same table now find themselves in opposing uniforms, and one family has to hold across the border between them.
