The Four Seasons

“Here's to our friends... and the strength to put up with them.”

Jack Burroughs (Alan Alda) and his wife Kate (Carol Burnett) belong to a close circle of friends, three well-off couples who have decided to take their vacations together. They go out across the year, one trip each in spring, summer, autumn and winter, and the marriages and middle-aged worries come along in the luggage. Alda, who also wrote it, scores the seasons with Vivaldi and keeps the talk loose and overlapping, like friends who have known each other too long.
