The Freshman

“He was on his way to the Dean's List, but he wound up on the hit list.”

Clark Kellogg (Matthew Broderick) arrives in New York as a first-year film student, and within hours his belongings are stolen. A stranger named Victor Ray (Bruno Kirby) steers him to Carmine Sabatini (Marlon Brando), a mobster who looks a good deal like a certain cinematic godfather. Andrew Bergman puts Clark in a job delivering a Komodo dragon to a dinner table, and the kid in over his head is left to carry it.
