The Frisco Kid

Rabbi Avram (Gene Wilder) steps off the boat in Philadelphia, fresh from Poland and bound for San Francisco, where a congregation is waiting for its new rabbi. Con men take his fare and leave him and his belongings scattered along an empty road, until a bank robber named Tommy (Harrison Ford) stops to help. Robert Aldrich sends the two west together, and the trip becomes a test of whether a man's faith can survive the frontier without bending.
