The Front
“America's most unlikely hero.”
Howard Prince (Woody Allen), a restaurant cashier in 1950s New York, starts putting his name on television scripts written by friends the industry has blacklisted. Martin Ritt, who was blacklisted himself, directs Walter Bernstein's screenplay, and Zero Mostel plays Hecky Brown, a performer whose work is drying up. Howard takes the money and the credit, but the longer he stays in the game, the more it threatens to cost him everything.
