In July 1942 Paris, thirteen-year-old Tauba Birenbaum (Violette Guillon) and her parents hide in a cramped room after the Vel' d'Hiv' Roundup. Her mother Rose (Sandrine Bonnaire) and father Moshe (Guillaume Gallienne) grow hollow with fear, but Tauba draws a piano on the floorboards and watches the city through a crack in the window. Over 765 days, as her parents surrender to despair, Tauba learns that survival means holding onto anything that feels like living.
