The Gambler

“The only way out is all in”

Jim Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) teaches literature at a university by day and gambles heavily at night, where the stakes have been climbing for some time. Rupert Wyatt follows him after he borrows from one gangster, Neville Baraka (Michael Kenneth Williams), and then plays that debt against another creditor and against Frank (John Goodman), a loan shark who treats him like a wayward son. The collateral Jim has put up is his own life, and the clock is running.
