The Garden of Sinners: A Study in Murder - Part 1

“"Have you ever wanted to kill someone?"”

Mikiya Kokutou (Kenichi Suzumura) sees a girl in a white kimono on a snowy day in August 1995, and when he spots Shiki Ryougi (Maaya Sakamoto) among the freshmen at his high school, he follows her and introduces himself. Takuya Nonaka adapts the Kinoko Nasu novel as a run of bizarre killings with no suspects, and Mikiya keeps circling the one girl who seems to know more than she says. The film turns on a question it never lets go of, which is who Shiki actually is.
