The Gathering Storm

Winston Churchill (Albert Finney) is out of office in the 1930s, writing at Chartwell and warning anyone who will listen about Germany. His wife Clementine (Vanessa Redgrave) has put up with years of his debts and his moods, and the marriage is wearing thin. Richard Loncraine films the pair mostly in close quarters, with Finney and Redgrave given room to say little and let the silences do the work.
