The Gendarme in New York

Ludovic Cruchot (Louis de Funès) is a sergeant from the St. Tropez gendarmerie, loud and puffed up with small-town authority. He travels to New York with his comrades, including Jérôme Gerber (Michel Galabru), for the International Congress of Gendarmerie. Jean Girault sets them down in a city that has never heard of them, where each day of the congress puts Cruchot's pride at risk.
