The Gendarme Takes Off

Ludovic Cruchot (Louis de Funès) has retired from the St. Tropez police and moves into his wife's castle, where he is bored nearly to death and fights with the butler over every small chore. When one of his old colleagues loses his memory after an accident, the retired gendarmes kidnap him and take him back to their old posts. Jean Girault sends them through St. Tropez in their old uniforms, and the whole town is about to find out they're back.
