The Ghost
“Horror... sharp as a razor's edge!”
Margaret Hichcock (Barbara Steele) and her lover, Dr. Charles Livingstone (Peter Baldwin), kill her husband, a doctor, and think the matter finished. Then strange things begin to happen around them, and they start to wonder whether he is really dead. Riccardo Freda, reworking Clouzot's Les Diaboliques as a Gothic horror, keeps the film in a 1963 Italian register of slow, creeping unease.
