(1966)Directed by Alan Rafkin90 min · GComedy, Family, Mystery, Romance
“G-G-GUARANTEED! YOU'LL BE SCARED UNTIL YOU LAUGH YOURSELF SILLY!”

Luther Heggs (Don Knotts) sets type for the newspaper in the small Kansas town of Rachel, and he is the one the town laughs at. He wants to be a real reporter, so he pitches a story on the old mansion where a murder and suicide happened twenty years ago. Alan Rafkin builds the film around Luther and Alma Parker (Joan Staley), the one person in town who never joins the laughing.
