Mary Carter (Paulette Goddard) has just inherited a mansion off the coast of Cuba, and a stranger telephones to tell her to stay away from it. She sails anyway, with Larry Lawrence (Bob Hope), a wisecracking radio announcer, hidden in her trunk. George Marshall sends them toward the castle, where Larry's jokes meet voodoo and zombies, and Mary does not look back.
