The Ghost Train

(1941)Directed by Walter Forde85 minComedy, Horror, Mystery, Thriller

In 1941, a group of mismatched travellers misses its connection and is stranded overnight at a lonely rural railway station. The locals say a phantom train runs through at dead of night, carrying the ghosts of a long-ago wreck, and Tommy Gander (Arthur Askey) and Teddy Deakin (Richard Murdoch) are the ones who have to sit up and wait. Walter Forde keeps the whole film inside that one station, and the story rarely steps out of the waiting room.
