Tippi Hedren (Sienna Miller) is a fashion model with a TV commercial to her name when Hitchcock's wife spots her and she lands in his next picture, The Birds. Julian Jarrold follows the shoot at Universal Studios, where Alfred Hitchcock (Toby Jones) has made a star of a blonde he barely knows, and the most frightening part of the job is the man behind the camera. Tippi cannot walk away from the chance of a lifetime, and the film watches her hold on to it.
