The Girl of Your Dreams

“A romantic comedy about war, filmmaking and impossible love.”

Macarena Granada (Penélope Cruz), an Andalusian actress, wants a break in the pictures, and in the middle of the Spanish Civil War it arrives as an invitation to shoot a film at UFA Studios in Nazi Germany. She travels with a troupe of Spanish filmmakers, and her presence soon draws the notice of Joseph Goebbels. Fernando Trueba gathers the whole company into one ensemble and keeps them close, as the work on set carries on beside the war.
