The Girl on the Bridge

Adèle (Vanessa Paradis) is a young woman who has never had any luck, and one night she stands on a Paris bridge, crying, leaning over the Seine. Gabor (Daniel Auteuil), a knife thrower who needs a living target for his act, talks to her, and with nowhere else to go she follows him. Patrice Leconte shot it in black and white and cinemascope, and the wide frame suits the long road trip along the Mediterranean coast.
