The Girl Without Hands
“A family, the Devil, a prince, a goddess : a girl without hands faces her destiny.”
A poor miller strikes a bargain with the Devil and, without knowing it, sells his own daughter for a little gold. The Devil cannot claim her because she is too pure and has wept on her hands, so he orders the miller to cut them off. Sébastien Laudenbach animated the whole film himself, and it follows her from that cruelty toward a freedom that costs her nearly everything she had.
