The Giver

“Search for truth. Find freedom.”

Jonas (Brenton Thwaites) is a teenager in a community with no war, no pain and no choices, where the Chief Elder (Meryl Streep) assigns every citizen a role. His is the rarest: he is chosen to learn from the elderly Giver (Jeff Bridges), who holds the memories of the real world. Phillip Noyce follows Jonas as each memory shows him the pain and the pleasure his family and friends have never felt, and he begins to wonder what has been taken from them.
