Jonas (Brenton Thwaites) lives in a pristine community where conflict and choice have been erased by a colorless, controlled system. At a ceremony marking his coming of age, he is selected to apprentice with the Giver (Jeff Bridges), an old man who holds all the memories the society has surrendered, and begins to learn what his world has lost. As that knowledge accumulates, Jonas discovers a truth that demands he choose his own path.
