The Glass Shield

“In a world filled with violence... his only weapon is the truth!”

J.J. Johnson (Michael Boatman) wants to be a good cop, and he takes a rookie post at a Sheriff's Department station where he is the first black officer. Deborah Fields (Lori Petty), the first woman there, is the only colleague who treats him as an equal. Charles Burnett works the story around the arrest of Teddy Woods (Ice Cube), and J.J.'s growing doubts about it show how far a badge protects the men who wear it, and who gets left outside it.
