“Their Love Made Such Wonderful Music!”

Glenn Miller (James Stewart) is a broke trombonist who keeps hearing a sound in his head that no band he plays in can give him. Anthony Mann follows him through the lean years toward the early 1940s, with Helen Burger (June Allyson) beside him. Glenn chases that sound through borrowed money and worn-out orchestras, and he will not let it go.
