Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) wants no part of the family business, and he has told his father, Don Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando), as much. Then Vito barely survives a shooting, and Michael steps in to deal with the men responsible, with Sonny (James Caan) and Tom Hagen (Robert Duvall) close by.
