The Godfather Part II

“The rise and fall of the Corleone empire.”

In 1945 New York, Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) inherits control of his family's crime empire while his consigliere Tom Hagen (Robert Duvall) navigates dangerous alliances. Coppola cuts between Michael's consolidation of power and a parallel story of his father Vito (Robert De Niro) as a young man building the family business in Sicily and New York. Michael sits alone in a darkened room, his face hard and still, the door closed behind him.
