The Golden Dream

Juan (Brandon López) and Sara leave the slums of Guatemala City with a few other teenagers, bound for California and the promise of a life without poverty or violence. Diego Quemada-Díez follows them north, and the group picks up Chauk (Rodolfo Domínguez), a young Tzotzil boy who speaks little Spanish and has joined the trip on his own. Juan insists he's only heading toward California, but each kilometer north shows him how much he has already given up.
