The Goldfinch

“The story of a stolen life.”

A bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art kills young Theodore Decker's (Oakes Fegley) mother, and in the panic he takes a small painting, "The Goldfinch," and carries it out. He is taken in by the wealthy Barbour family, led by Samantha (Nicole Kidman), while the stolen picture follows him into adulthood as Ansel Elgort. John Crowley directs, adapting Donna Tartt's novel from a script by Peter Straughan.
