The Goob

A heat wave sits over the Fenland, and sixteen-year-old Goob (Liam Walpole) is back in the transport cafe and the beet fields, where he has spent every summer helping his mum, Janet (Sienna Guillory). Then Womack (Sean Harris), a stock-car racer, moves in, and Guy Myhill makes the boy an afterthought in his own home. When Eva (Marama Corlett) arrives to pick beet and starts teasing him, Goob begins to picture a life somewhere else.
