The Good Fairy

Luisa (Margaret Sullavan), a naïve orphan in 1930s Budapest, takes a job as a movie-house usherette and sets out to do good deeds for everyone she meets. Her kind little lies land her between Konrad (Frank Morgan), a lecherous businessman, and Max Sporum (Herbert Marshall), a decent, bewildered doctor. William Wyler follows her in her usherette's uniform, one earnest fib at a time.
