The Good Shepherd

“Edward Wilson believed in America, and he would sacrifice everything he loved to protect it.”

A boy sees his father's suicide, keeps it to himself, and grows into a man who is trusted because he never talks. Edward Wilson (Matt Damon) goes from the secrecy of Skull and Bones at Yale to the newly founded OSS, and then to the CIA, between 1939 and 1961. Robert De Niro directs a story about what a country asks of a person who guards its secrets, and how little of him is left for his wife, Margaret (Angelina Jolie), and their son.
