The Graduate

“This is Benjamin. He’s a little worried about his future.”

Ben Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) comes home from college with a degree and no idea what to do with it, and a family friend, Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft), takes him to bed. Mike Nichols follows him through a summer of lounging in his parents' pool while he falls for her daughter, Elaine (Katharine Ross). Ben sits at the bottom of the pool in his scuba gear, and the Simon & Garfunkel songs drift over him.
