M. Gustave (Ralph Fiennes), concierge of a famous mountain hotel in the fictional country of Zubrowka, wants his guests satisfied and his name respected. When a wealthy dowager dies and he is framed for her murder, he takes his newest lobby boy, Zero (Tony Revolori), and goes after a priceless painting and a family fortune. Wes Anderson sets it between the wars, as fascism closes in on a Europe that is already disappearing.
