The Great Beauty

Jep Gambardella (Toni Servillo), an aging Rome socialite, hosts elegant parties in his penthouse while moving through the city's galleries and circles. Around him swirl artists and the beautiful people he has known for decades, chasing beauty and meaning that slip away. Sorrentino trains his camera on the gilt and marble, finding in Jep's long friendship with Romano (Carlo Verdone) the one anchor that holds through all the surfaces.
