“Greatness is a state of mind.”

In 2008, a law school dropout named Troy Gable (Colin Hanks) answers an ad for a personal assistant and ends up working for Buck Howard (John Malkovich), a belligerent mentalist whose best years are long behind him. Their job is a drive across the country to stage the comeback of a lifetime, one small-town stop at a time. Sean McGinly, directing his first feature, keeps the camera close to Malkovich's strutting, wounded vanity.
