The Great Escaper

(2023)Directed by Oliver Parker96 minHistory, Drama, War
“Inspired by a true love story.”

In June 2014, Bernard Jordan (Michael Caine) slips out of his care home without telling anyone and heads for the ferry to Normandy, a ninety-year-old veteran bound for the 70th anniversary of D-Day. His wife Irene (Glenda Jackson) stays behind, and the staff start to wonder where he has gone. Oliver Parker's film, based on a true story, is about what a man carries from the war and what he keeps from the people he loves.
