The Great Gatsby

“Gone is the romance that was so divine”

Long Island, the Jazz Age: Nick Carraway, a young Midwesterner, rents a house next to the nouveau riche Jay Gatsby (Robert Redford), whose mansion fills with riotous parties and whose past nobody can quite explain. Jack Clayton, working from a Francis Ford Coppola script, follows Nick into Gatsby's circle and toward Gatsby's wish to reunite with his former lover Daisy Buchanan (Mia Farrow). Across the bay from the lawn, a green light burns at the end of her dock.
